AFMR Updates (READ ONLY) / Attack From Mars Update - May 31st - Production Begins
« on: June 01, 2017, 01:26:11 AM »Quick update regarding AFMR production status - per discussion with Chicago Gaming.
UPD: 6/1/17 - First True Production game came off the line and CGC is very happy with the result - will be heavily tested, many complete tested playfields done, being married to cabinets now, so production has truly begun, but there will be a ramp-up.
Production started and several games are expected to be shipped on Friday.
Parts are in for the initial production run, they have not identified any issues at this time impacting production.
Games are on the line, and several are expected to come off tomorrow (Thurs June 1), those would be tested and expected to be shipped on Friday. These are full production serial numbered SE games.
All games will have SOL (Stroke of Luck) protector installed, as well as games will have mylar as per factory as well as additional mylar in wear area in front of the 3 bank forcefield targets.
There will be a slow ramp-up of the games thru the next weeks, obviously to ensure the quality of the build, etc.
The initial batch of <100 games will be Special Edition games. SE's first for two reasons a) Shipping SE games for dealer showroom, show support, etc and b) There have been a number of improvements in the LE topper and those improvements resulted in revisions to some LE topper (only) parts.
There will be an update expected from Chicago Gaming on Thursday with pictures and more overview on the production line and status. We wanted to update on May 31st as many of you may have been watching on the last day of May for an update.
The game is solid - PPS have had a pre-production game since February, and the game has been extremely solid. The game ran non-stop during the Allentown show, as well as was sent right away to the Pin A Go-Go show, and had no issues.
PPS is now requesting SE customers for final payment unless you have requested a late shipment not in the first batch. Soon afterward we will start requesting final payment for LE customers. We will contact those customers based on our (and CGC's forecast) of trying to keep +/- 30 days out from shipment date.

Order is in on AFMR [SS Trim ] ,,My color scheme is a little different than others as I am thinking of replacing my SS legs with Black to match the Cabinet Colors and keep the SS Trim to match the mirrors ...ah ..It might work,, but we are all different and that's what make us all unique
Note that AFMR Black is identical to MMR Black - and PPS Store has Black Legs, Lockdown, and Side Rails in stock now.

They were done by CPR, so best to ask them as they schedule reruns and I'm almost always fine with that.

yes, decisions have been made and no, we are not disclosing what they would be until they are close to being announced, similar to AFMR. We don't want to distract from what is going on now, as well as we don't want to impact the market based on things that may be months/years out. Also things can change and we do not want to be broadcasting what we are doing in the future, we have learned from that and will not do it.

Attack From Mars Remake (AFMR) / Re: Starving for news...
« on: April 26, 2017, 02:03:16 PM »
There should be an update soon, but things are going well. Final approval for production was signed off by WMS as well as UL Certification had been done a while ago, so I would expect that CGC will update on when first games will come off the line, which was last quoted as "May"

MMR Support [MMR Members Only] / Re: MMr left out lane lights
« on: April 16, 2017, 05:49:08 PM »If you take the left land board and plug it into the right, does it work? The schematic is daily simple for the lights, so, there's not that much that could go wrong. Have you asked CGC about ho to get it repaired and who is authorized to do so?
I'm not sure CGC would have 'authorized' board repairers, although I'm sure many people doing board repairs could fix whatever is the problem. Short of that we have new boards in stock on the PPS store.

Attack From Mars Remake (AFMR) / Re: AFMR - Q&A Input?
« on: April 02, 2017, 07:48:53 PM »
I expect unless there are some difficulties that MMRs will have some SOL protector - most likely more like a mantis design (as there is no existing wear which is where cliffy's are best) ... exactly what that will be or look like, no idea. Not sure about other areas, but I know there are concerns that the protectors that in other areas like the drop target one interfere with the original mechs, but that is about all I have heard.

Well, I think CGC is the authority on Production status, but what we have bee told:
- Production starts in May - will need to ramp up - they are targetting 200/games per month +/-
- They will then produce some SE/CE to get show machines and showroom machines for dealers as well as to ensure the process
- Then they will primarily focus on LE's, but may insert some SE/CE (especially for Intl' customers who order a mix in a container.
- LE customers who own MMR's will be prioritized for matching LE #'s
- Then at some point (probably after 450-500 units) they will run some more MMRs (est July Aug) - probably 250-500 max
- My guess is that they are trying to get all LE's by end of the year, certainly sooner if things work the way they project.
All of this is subject to change ... based on what really happens.
As far as 'when do I get my game' questions - It's really difficult to pinpoint exactly when ... why?
1) First, all of the factors above - anything changes (for better or worse) timing comes in or goes out
2) Each reseller only knows their allocation (i.e. their 'line') and don't really have visibility to others, they should get games as a % of their allocation (ideally) - so if there are 1000 LE's and a reseller has 25 of them, then ideally they get one out of every 50
3) We know that #2 doesn't usually work out that way for so many reasons - efficiency of shipping, if resellers don't have payment yet, if international order, customer orders a couple of games, etc.
4) Options like even trim can re-arrange things - if a batch of trim colors is run then that may cause things to get out of order - this is why minimal number of options matters (ideally zero options)
What most resellers can probably tell you is 'where' you are in their line relatively (soon, first 25%, last 25%, etc) - as a specific # is not particularly helpful without more info. Larger resellers get more allocation and thus more games for every 100 made, etc.
Any CGC updates will help resellers try to project when games will be available, but there are alway starts/stops, etc. Hopefully for the AFMR and the upcoming MMR runs there will be more of a steady state of production.
So yes, we will have alot of information, but it will be (as always) an 'estimate' ... the closer you are to the information the better you can predict. And PPS is the largest reseller as well as have as much information as anyone other than CGC itself.
