Title: Bride of Pinbot Playfield
Post by: cheddar on October 21, 2014, 10:46:38 AM
There are rumors of these going back years. When will we be able to buy them?

Thanks

They are being screened now, so assuming no problems there, then they need to be clearcoated, so assuming no problems there, then possibly in a month or so some will be available for sale.

I will totally thrown down for a preorder right now!

But barring that, thanks for the update and keep up the good work

+1 would also pre-order. It's the last puzzle piece I need for a fully restored bride.

Nobody laugh.  That's me doing my happy dance here :-)

I sure hope that these come to light soon as well and would also pre-order if I could to help make sure I get one.  Knowing my luck I'll miss the announcement and they will sell out before I see it.

Backglass - check
2.0 kit - check
new plastics - check
new decals - check
new ramps - check
new helmet - check
new playfield - almost :-)

Sign me up!  This is the last piece I need.  I just squared away a new BoP cabinet from Doug Huse.  Bop 2.0 is on the way, got plastics, got ramps, new faces and mini playfied.  I might even get the new backglass.

Really just need the Playfield!

that should be 'dibs' ... there aren't too many for the first batch, I think he's only running about 25 ... PPS will get a few of those. Then I will push him to do another run quickly.

Good news is the colors are all on, and nothing bad has been spotted ... so now off to clearcoat, which will be a few passes and then some drying time.

There's seven in that last pick.  That leaves one for people outside this thread.  Not being greedy at all   ;D

My wife was even asking last night if we were getting close to starting the restore on the machine.  That takes a lot to get her excited.

Title: Re: Bride of Pinbot Playfield
Post by: PPS on November 06, 2014, 12:54:42 PM
Normally we would have a pre-reserve for an item, but in this case I will take the posting 'want' order on this thread as the pre-reserve. This will not be a pattern, but given that BOP has been in the works for so long it's ok.

It sounds like they made a small run to make sure they were going to be right. Once that small run is sold they'll start a larger batch. With all the hiccups and false starts on this title over the years I can understand why.

Pre-Reserve form is up, this is alot cleaner for a pre-reserve list, so other than the first 10 people (who I'm sure have counted themselves on the list), PLEASE put in your pre-reserve here and that will help us insure we notify people when more are available.

http://www.planetarypinball.com/product/bride-of-pinbot-playfield/ (http://www.planetarypinball.com/product/bride-of-pinbot-playfield/)

also, if you are already in this list of the first 10, please put in the comments your forum name so I can match you up!

thanks,
rick

First you I emailed PPS, then you sent me here to this thread to get on the list, now a week later it is I have to fill out the form? Good thing I decided to check back today to see if there was any new activity and didn't just assume that I was on the list after posting here (as instructed)!

Hopefully that's it until someone contacts me and telling me how much money to send and hopefully I'm not further down the list because I am not a regular on this forum and didn't see this new form I had to fill out.

Title: Re: Bride of Pinbot Playfield
Post by: PPS on November 11, 2014, 06:21:17 AM
Well, it's a little bit of a moot point anyways as the first small batch of 10 that I would be getting is already spoken for, and then next batch we would likely make based on the entire list, so when there is a second batch, there will be little difference between where exactly you are on the list.

There will be alot of activity of new projects, and as I've always said, they will be here on the PPS forum in more detail, and then try as well on pinside and rgp to post as well, but if you want to see what is the latest, it will definately be on the PPS forum first.

Hi all! Very nice news to begin with!

Anyway, as Jarkko wondered in an earlier post I too wonder if us europeans will have to order the PF from the states or if there will be any optional way of getting this? Would be best to get it straight from within europe. Also, any idea if there are any levels like bronze, silver and gold quality wise..

Thanks,

Andy

BOP 2.0 Kits look to be trickling out in Europe now.  US sounds to be close.  Would be awesome to get my 2.0 kit and PF about the same time.  Either way, I spent the last 4 days stripping my game.  Full on restoration has started.

Only thing finished so far is the backpanel light board.  Stripped down, repainted, cleaned harness and polished hardware :-)

Yes, the clearcoat guy screwed up the clearcoat and the playfields have to be re-screened ... this kindof stuff happens more than you think, which is why it's great that people with peter step up to make playfields. Latest is that he is ready for screening in the next week or so hopefully.

Bummer.  Sounds like this vendor has had issues with clear coat in the past too.  Hopefully they get it worked out quickly.  I'm racing them and right now I'm kicking their butt :-)

All coils and coil brackets have been cleaned, tumbled, polished and re-assembled.  All boards have now been cleaned and all connectors replaced and any previous owner hacks have been repaired.  All wire harnesses have been thoroughly cleaned.  No more dirt and they smell oh so pretty now. LOL!!!   Working on the cab more now.

One of 3 tables full of restored parts ready for a new home.

Does that mean that all of that first run of PF's were ruined??  What does "re-screened" mean?  The same messed up PF's :-\

My guess is they run them through a drum sander to take them back to the wood and then back to screening

I'm actually going to go with some custom ones.  Never been a fan of the stock decals so figured this would be a good time to personalize a bit.  I've heard good things about the repo decals for this title though.  There is a guy on pinside that put some on and they looked real good.

I have seen those and look very good.  I am still debating if I want to keep the original screened printed or get the decals.  Yellows and reds are pretty faded on my game, not horrible, but faded/washed out.
Thanks,

Bump - have cash in hand!
Title: Re: Bride of Pinbot Playfield

Cash in hand is not the problem ... lol

Latest update is that the playfields are being silkscreened now and will be done early next week, and then go off to be cleared, which will take a couple weeks to do as there are multiple coats and sanding in-between, then the clear needs to cure a little, so probably sometime in January is the best predition I can make.

it's very difficult, usually takes 2 years from start with several issues causing to restart until people get the formulas right, and then there are always big road bumps in the middle ...

Anyone else getting a bit concerned about these getting made?  The clear coat guy messed up in Nov.  We are now 2 months down the road and not even an update.  In two months it seems they should have been able to rescrean the PF's atleast since they had that process down.

I just reached out to Peter from Hamburg and he said that the playfields were re-printed and cleared.  YAY

He is working off a pre-order list but I am not sure if that list is the same as the PPS pre-order list.

-Let us know if you were contacted regarding your new BOP playfield-

Personally, I'd hate to be missing the boat if my name is on the wrong preorder list and then finding out later that they are all sold out.

That's awesome!

I haven't heard anything yet and I'm one of the first on Ricks list and I signed up on the list with the company doing the repo's years ago.  No clue where I fall on that list though.

All ... there is a list of PPS BoP playfields, and I'm sure Peter in Germany has a list as well.

As of this time I have no playfields, and as soon as they come here, we will go down the line of people who are on the PPS list and then contact you.

The PPS list was never represented as the PPS list, and it is a completely different list, although I'm sure there are duplicates.

So, until we get playfields in there is not much we are doing ...

Do we have any idea on when they may come in?  The emotional roller coaster is wearing on me and I just would like to know about when we can expect to see these so I can decide if I want to part out my machine at this point and cut my losses or wait and potentially never get one.
Title: Re: Bride of Pinbot Playfield
Post by: Crashramp on January 22, 2015, 08:36:41 PM
Is anyone able to clear up what the story is with the lists? I sent an email to B&T over 2 years ago but never received a confirmation email back. I also put my name down on the PPS list in November. So now I'm not sure if im on 2 lists or just the PPS list. I really don't care who I buy from but I don't want to miss out on one.
Title: Re: Bride of Pinbot Playfield
Post by: PPS on January 22, 2015, 09:06:59 PM
Here is the situation:

Peter is making the playfelds under our license, as part of that we get some of them (which on the first batch was 8-10 tbd)

So thru this thread we have a waiting list for our 8-10

Peter also has a waiting list which may be years old

It is likely that people are on both lists, which I'm not worried about as there are more people wanting them (from the first batch) than there are playfields.

SO, when we get them in, we will sell them against our list.

More will be made and we will get more and Peter will have more himself.

This is the way alot of things work when people operate under our license.

Ok thanks for that. I just wasnt sure what should happen if B&T suddenly contact me and offer a playfield but my name is still down for one with PPS. I don't want to do the wrong thing by PPS but I don't want to miss out on a playfield by turning down the B&T one and then finding PPS don't get enough get to my number on there list.

 Perhaps I'm worried about nothing?

Oh, and also, before I had a pre-reserve list, this thread had the first 8-10 people, and then we started the pre-order list, which when I run out of the first batch against the people on this thread, then we will go thru the pre-reserve list - the pre-reserve list is the way we want anyone interested in BoP playfields to get in line.

When they get there we will notify those and get those out the door.

Another large batch will be done next and he is waiting for the wood to get there.

From PPS? They promised an update once they received the playfields. As a bit of a late-comer, I don't feel particularly secure in my position with respect to getting a playfield from PPS, given the lack of specific information and assurances.

Yes, several of us got notices from PPS yesterday and placed our orders. I am not sure how many they got but if you were high enough on the list you should have gotten an email from them.

Several of the PPS buyers posted on Pinside about getting their shipping notices yesterday.

We only received the very small first batch which were already spoken for months ago, there is no need to update as those were for people already. When we get more we will let people know.

I am happy to remove anyone who is not secure in their position, no problem.

Bride of Pinbot Next run is being scheduled and worked on, we need to get an accurate list of customers wanting one and they will be run - there is enough wood to do them and will be available July-Aug.

PPS customers for BOP playfields will pre-order from the site at the link before before Tuesday and we will relay the count to Germany. The previous run of playfields are of high quality and are very good artwork, etc.

http://www.planetarypinball.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Store_Code=PP&Screen=PROD&Product_Code=PPS-36-50002R

is the link for ordering, you have until end of day on Tuesday and I will relay to the supplier the number of board for PPS, so please pre-order from there for the playfield.

We will be sending out this information as well to those on the pre-order list from the website as well.

Thanks,
rick@planetarypinball.com

Update on the BOP Playfields second run:

Got an update from Peter in Germany on the playfields.

They are now in second pass of clearcoating.

He expects them somewhere around the 7-10th of Nov back to him, and then needs to make sure the clearcoat is dry before sending them.

As soon as they are ready to go they will be shipped to PPS Nevada. This will take a few days in transit, and then they will be re-packaged (we will not open them nor inspect them), and sent to the customers. This will take a couple of days to do as there are a number of playfields to get out.

Then they will be delivered to you!

We will update when they are on their way and then it should not be long before getting your playfield.

Not sure if we will have any extras and will not know until they are here, we have a long wait list for more anyways.

There will likely be a 3rd run of them sometime in 2016.

We received 6 of the BOP playfields yesterday and will be going out today, more are coming as Peter gets them packed up to me and shipped. We are shipping them in order of order # received as I have no idea on the original list (of who was able to get them) and have any mapping to their customer names. The rest of the playfields should be coming in the next 30 days I expect as they are done.

GOOD News, the final 4 playfields came in today and are ready to be shipped on Monday.

We have no additional playfields, so we will all wait for the next batch.

PPS is now doing pre-orders for Bride of Pinbot 3rd (and probably final for some time) run.

We only have a very small number of slots, so if interested, please order asap. Product expected to ship JUNE 2016 +/- 1 month is what we expect.
