Hello Tim
Does it work in game play ?
The tests with holds like that diverter and flippers, are funky at best. You have to physically hold them up then do the hold test. They don't have enough power to go up in hold test.

The three driver boards under the playfield are identical. And along one edge are ten pins that plug into the huge board below the playfield.
Please push that row of pins in tighter on the driver board the gate coil plugs onto. Be sure that plug is seated good too. If that doesn't fix it, then swap the driver board with another, see if that helps.
If you try all that and it still doesn't work, then go to chicago-gaming.com and under Support open a ticket on the Help desk.
Thank you,LTG : )

Tests - Switch Edge - pass something between the optos. If they work, the ball is probably flying higher above them. Then make your playfield a 6 1/2 degree pitch and lower your flipper strength.

Hello

The coil and plunger is fastened to a bracket. This bracket is fastened to the end of the ball trough by four screws on the opposite side of the coil. Loosen them and move the whole bracket down a tiny bit. Not too much.
Do that and you should be good to go.

Should be soon.

I'm sure it's not a software issue. With well over 2,000 games out there. A lot more would be popping up with an issue.
Be sure the optos are clean, lined up so they hit each other. That the balls aren't flying over the beam of light. And don't rule out poor connection, poor solder joint, or flaky opto. And there have been a few where other light sources were triggering them.

Not a software problem.
A switch firing that shouldn't.
If an opto, may be getting effected by stray light.

Commercial or home use. I wouldn't lubricate any DMD era drop targets.
Williams did. Safecracker comes to mind. At some point you get to tear the whole unit apart and clean every inch of it. Oil or grease attracts dust and dirt and gums up everything quite nicely. Unless you get it all out of there. It returns soon and then you get to do it again.
There isn't much that wears on a drop target. Coil sleeve maybe. I still have the original coil sleeve in my original AFM here. And in 20 years I think I've cleaned it and the target assembly twice. The switch on it has been replaced. And wiring to the switch takes a beating, figure on resoldering that once every few years.

That is in every Williams manual.
I wouldn't lubricate anything on your game. Usually not needed. Especially drop targets if a game has them. Especially in home use.

There is a metal extension behind each troll carriage. Bend it out a tiny bit should help. Not too much or the carriage will bind going up and down.

You can measure voltages to the display for a start so you know if you lost power or signal.

You really need someone skilled to check this and not just throw parts into it.
