Thanks stevevt!

Is this a normal feature of the game?

I've installed U.9.08 "Install Add-A-Ball", since it's on free-play.

The threshold to earn a bonus ball keeps dropping. It started upwards of 24,000,000 (I don't recall exactly), and now it's currently at 10,000,000.

Curious if this is normal behavior.

Thanks.

When ever we get the update, that will be fixed. Not a battery.

LTG : )

Any guesstimate on time frame?

(and how kewl is it that guesstimate is in my 'puter's dictionary, so got spell checked! ;D )

Also replaced the cheap single cone speakers with pioneer 2-way and a Polk powered subwoofer.

Did you wire them in series?

And if so, don't you think you'd loose some stereo-phonics?

How did you wire in the sub-woofer?

Can you provide a link to the speakers you bought?

I'm considering a speaker upgrade as well.

You should create a support ticket with CGC at chicago-gaming.com and have one of the techs work with you.

Marc

Done. I'll await their reply. Thank you for the advice.

Thanks Jamieflowers... I appreciate your response, but that was kind of my question. I know how to raise and lower the bob, but I don't know where "normal" or "typical" or "average" is. Without knowing what's typical, how do I know what's "higher" than normal, and "looser" than normal.

Is normal mid-bob? I'd like my machine to be set for typical "normal" play. I don't want settings too easy, so my high scores are silly, but I don't want them too hard either.

I know it's all subjective, maybe I'll figure out how to start a poll... see where most people set their bobs.

Thanks!

On my new MMR LE, I've had to set the date and time now three times in a week. When I turn it on, for the third time the test returns the error "Date and Time not set." I would suspect a battery, except it keeps the high scores, and is only losing date and time.

Any advice?

For home use.

I don't have a lot of experience with pinball ownership.

Not sure where is "normal" for the tilt plumb bob. With the top level with the brass hole? Centered? Just barely fitting?

Thanks,

3. Sometimes (about 32½% of the time) the ball falls off the left wire ramp to the ball's starboard side immediately after it passes over the wizard area. It's not a big deal, since it falls back into play, but I don't imagine this is normal behavior, and it does gyp me of an "I". Looking at the ramp, it seems perfectly parallel wires with no discernible defect. Is this a known issue, and is there a decent fix?

Yes you can fix that, look at where the wire frame bolts to the inlane and see if it's dropping the ball in the middle of the lane, if not adjust, also the screw at the top of the wireframe in the middle that holds it is that tight? after looking at those just grab the wire frame and gently twist it up the opposite way the ball is falling off this slight change of angle will keep it on track.

Thanks for all that. Everything looks tight. What it ;ooks like to me, having watched it a while now... is that little red pointy thing, which I assume is to prevent the ball from getting to certain areas, pokes up just a hair, and the ball tips it as it rolls over... I debated about ever so slightly sanding the point of that red thing. Ever so slightly.

4. Speaking of "I", the manual says if you get F-I-R-E eight times you activate the video game "Save the Children". How is this possible, considering the F and E are drains. You'd have to drain eight balls to do that! Is this right?

You can change which lane letter is light using the flipper buttons.

Now I understand what the "Change Lanes" on the two flags means, too.  :-[

5. Rescue the damsel five times in one game? Obviously it must be possible, but... jes sayin'. We don't have many goals met by household members. Is there a way to clear the default high scores and champions? Not reset them to the factory scores, but clear them entirely, so that our household gets to set at least a few of them at our feeble skill-less levels. From what I read in the manual, the answer is no, but thought I'd ask.
I think my HS is 9 Damsels, the answer is no, just practice and be less feeble, do you really want to be rewarded for not playing well? perhaps you could just take the glass off and clock up a massive score to put your name up  ;)

I did realize you can lower the back-up default scores, then reset the high scores, and voila! I ended up just lowering the 4th high score down to 3 million so my kids had a goal they could beat. When my 6 year old got 3.5m, he was so jazzed. Now the little ones are in a competition to knock his score off. It's fun.

Thanks for the advice and reply.

I wasn't aware of the insert issue when I bought my MMR, and maybe all the negative insert chat would have steered me away from buying MMR, so I'm glad I didn't know about this issue in advance, because I love the snot out of this game, and am glad I bought it. I was pumped about my new pinball machine, and so looked for fellow enthusiasts to share my excitement, and that's when I read the forum posts about insert issues.

Learning about the insert issue did make me look at the playing field and say, "Yeah, why DIDN'T they make those inserts opaque so you can read them when lit." Then, briefly, I weighed the option to follow the herd and make my own stink about the inserts to get my due.

Yes it would have been better if those letters were opaque and thus readable when lit, but lets be honest... not being able to read the name of the castle's baron doesn't affect game play... at all. The castles light up to count how many you've destroyed. Who it belongs to doesn't affect how you play the game. So, at least for me, I looked at the playing field, thought about how weak the insert letters are, and then said to myself, "Oh well. My turn," and then I hit start, and had a ball.

Yeah, some dummy made a bad call on the insert ink issue. No Christmas bonus for that guy. Yet, there are so many things they got right, and I'm grateful they are cranking out a remake of such an awesome classic, because it allows me to not just own an MM, but to own a pristine shiny new modern technology MM at an reasonably affordable price.

There are so many awesome things to say about this game, I feel like exuding negative energy over something so insignificant would just bringing my own happiness quotient down. I decided instead to look at all that positive energy blinking and pulsating on that playing field, and I allowed myself to be amazed.

I get that. Makes sense, from a revenue aspect.

Danke schoen.

Merh. I had the same question. Seems bizarre to have one menu for volume, another menu for minimum volume limit. Who are they worried will reduce the volume lower than wanted? If you have access to one menu, you have access to the other. Seems unnecessarily repetitively redundant. Jes sayin'.  ;)

Also, the menu system should have a maximum awesome setting. MM is way over the top awesome, and I can't seem to turn that down either.  8)

Hi everyone, my first post about my MMR (Limited, Silver). I don't need to tell y'all how awesome it is, you already know that! But it is pretty awesome, really.

LOVIN' IT!

A few questions so far, for this game we use in a household setting:

1. The speakers are loud. Really loud. The volume setting won't go less that 8 for whatever reason, even though it can go incrementally higher all the way to max, and back down to 8. Is there a way to make it go less than 8?

2. I read all over these forums about a pending software update. My machine has a sticker on the back of the backbox that says April 18, 2016, which I assume is the manufacture date, and the screen notes "Sound v1.0 System v3.70". Do I need a software update?

3. Sometimes (about 32½% of the time) the ball falls off the left wire ramp to the ball's starboard side immediately after it passes over the wizard area. It's not a big deal, since it falls back into play, but I don't imagine this is normal behavior, and it does gyp me of an "I". 6. When I enabled utility setting U9.08 "Install Add-A-Ball" to replace free credit (since it's on free-play anyway), the machine lost free-play and wanted quarters to play. Not a big deal, I was able to re-enable free-play, but that change isn't listed in the U9.08 change list. Just an FYI.

7. The game is awesome. I didn't know if this was a known issue. It should get reported somewhere, because, while the adverts do warn that the game is pretty cool, no where does it specifically say its awesome. I've looked the manual over pretty closely, and it doesn't appear to be just a setting on my machine. It is apparently just inherently awesome. Another FYI.
