After owning MMR for about a month with no issues, today I powered it up and had a credit dot. I checked it and it was for date and time not being set. I set for the current date and time, played a couple games and turned it off. When I returned this afternoon, powered it up, and again it said date/time not set. Any ideas?

I'm pretty sure that was a bug in the software that has been fixed and would be in the update release that CGC needs to make available. You can put a ticket on chicago-gaming.com but I'm pretty sure.

Thanks Rick, I will do.

I had the same problem. I put in a ticket then they sent me a firmware update.
-
I have the same insure, think I'm going to wait for the final software update to be posted here.
-
Texture - please put in a ticket. Very few games are effected and I don't know if the cure will be in future updates.

I had the same issue and replaced the CR2032 battery on the board in the back box. That cleared up the problem.
I then checked the old batteries voltage with my VOM and it read 2.99 volts.
So it appears the board wont maintain data with anything less than 3 volts.
Maybe some of the batteries that are on the boards are marginal.
It is a good idea to replace the batteries on any machine you purchase anyway.
Make sure you replace the battery with the machine off. You don't want to accidentally touch the circuit board with it.

Same issue I will put in ticket as well.
-
Will do, thx Lloyd

Problem was solved with software update, also no more tearing on the screen.
-
I had the same problem, but the loss of time and date happened vary sporadically. I put in a ticket and a month latter received and installed the update. After a month of operation I lost the time and date again. There is still a problem. I have since put in another ticket and have not heard anything from CGC.
-
I marked your ticket high priority and alerted Ron.
I'm sure the engineers are looking into it.

Lloyd,
Your response to my tickets and emails have always been prompt, and I thank you. The problem is with CGC. It took days and numerous emails to you before they responded to the my ticket. It took a month to even get the update. My experience with CGC customer support, not you, has been poor at best.
-
I have the issue as well but was waiting for the software update. I will open a ticket now.

11 days and counting since I put in my second ticket for the loss of time and date. Absolutely zero communication once the ticket was assigned to a CGC pinball technician (Ron). All I want is some acknowledgement from Ron that the problem is even being looked at. This is exactly what happened the first time a put in a ticket with this company.
-
My game has started doing this as well. Every time I power on, even if I reset the clock.
-
Please open a ticket. Under Support - The Help Desk. CGC will get to them soon.

I guess no one wants to take the advice I posted above.
Again, replace the 2032 battery on the pinball controller board. It appears that it needs at least 3.0 volts to maintain its memory. Read my above comment.
I am not sure a software update can fix that.
What would fix it is a 3 volt power supply. Just my opinion. If I am wrong, please let me know.
Thanks, Dennis
PS: Love my MMRLE! A quality product! It was well worth the wait.

I agree that the software update most likely will not fix the problem. I received a software update and the problem occurred again. The loss of time and date has happened only a couple of times, so it's difficult for CGC to troubleshoot. For me, when the problem occurs, it happens two times in a row then goes away for awhile. My best guess is, the machines real time clock battery backup circuitry isn't quite right.

The software update seems to have fixed my problem, I never touched the battery. I recommend everyone getting the update anyway as it does eliminate the tearing and a few sound issues.

Is there a page to download this software update from? Hopefully with instructions on how to apply it.
Thanks

Mine started having to reset the time and date so what I did was left game on for 2 days and it was solved the battery needs to charge up for a while???
-
What rechargeable battery? I believe the real time clock uses a non-rechargeable CR 2032 Lithium button battery.
-
Have my game since mid Oct, just lost time and date today. Thought I had the latest software , no?
-
I've done the software update. I still get the occasional speaker crackle. Shouldn't say still, as it never happened before I did the update.
I never set the date to begin with. Is there a reason to be concerned about the date? No biggie to me.?
-
No biggie except for a credit dot and an $8000 piece of equipment that isn't functioning correctly.
-
Loss of time and date
CGC (Lloyd excluded) customer service sucks. I have had a ticket open for 18 days without a single response from my so called assigned pinball technician Ron Lukwinski. Lack of communication seems to be the normal way CGC conducts all facets of it's business. All the ticket has ever said is, being processed since xx days xx hours. The last time I put in a ticket for this same problem, it took 30 days and numerous emails to Lloyd for CGC to respond. I understand this is a difficult problem, but absolutely no communication is unacceptable. I'm worried for the future when something big goes wrong with the MMR.
-
Mine did it this week too and I have the software update since November. I will open up a new ticket.

Sounds like a lot of people are having this issue. Guess I'll have to set my t/d and see what happens.
-
I've had my MMR for about a month and this just happened to me today too. "Time and Date Not Set."
