LED interference (EMI/RFI)
« on: January 19, 2016, 02:11:06 PM »
Hi

It seems that MMR is not shielded very well against electronic interference caused by LEDs, if for example I change LED intensity in the test settings I can hear the high pitch buzz/hum on the speakers. I installed the Laserrific topper, and the pulsating LED caused a really annoying interference on the speakers that I couldn't eliminate. I even tried ferrite clamps, but it still remained

Does anyone have any good suggestions on how to minimize LED interference, or is this just an inherent part of the architecture (maybe beaglebone)?

You can use a stand alone power supply for the topper..that would probably work ok...
For the playfield led's...then I would go for speaker filters..or just one or two condensators if you want it cheap....
