B. Check magnet for steel filings. One screw removes the magnet.
C. Each 700 series 25~ rejector incorporates adjustments for rejec-
tion of slugs or spurious coins. Improper or misadjustment of the
deflector or separator can result in rejection of genuine quarters.
Follow the procedure below for proper setting of your rejector.
1. Place rejector on level table with rear of unit facing you.
2. Using a screw driver loosen the deflector and separator ad-
justment screws and move both parts to the right.
3. Insert a number of quarters (use both old and new coins) and
observe that some will be rejected by the separator.
4.
Now loosen separator adjustment screw and move separator
slightly to the left. Insert quarters and observe if they are ac-
cepted or rejected.
Repeat the above until all genuine quarters
are accepted.
5. Move deflector to left and insert quarters.
You will notice that
coins are rejected.
6. Gradually move deflector to right until all genuine quarters are
accepted.
7. After completing adjustments,
be sure to tighten adjustment
screws.
7. If quarters lodge during the test:
A. If quarters lodge in the cradle, remove the cradle and clean the
cradle pin and bushing. If they still lodge, install a new cradle.
B. If quarters lodge under the magnet, check for steel filings. Also,
check magnet for clearance.
A new quarter should pass freely be-
tween the magnet and the malnplate. If it does not, pry the magnet
up slightly.
C. If quarters lodge any other place in the rejector , it will be neces-
sary to observe closely to see just what is holding the coin. It will
probably be a protruding screw, a bent coverplate, a bent coin or
some foreign material.
In the event that the foregoing does not solve your difficulty. we suggest that the re-
jector be sent to the nearest National Rejectors Branch Office for repair.
